Joakim Sundén and Spotify

Music lovers and startuppers will surely get a kick from the presence at Lean Kanban Southern Europe 2014 of Joakim Sundén, Agile Coach at Spotify. But he’s also been a frequent speaker at Agile conference and he’s done a great service to the Kanban community by co-authoring the vastly enjoyable new book Kanban in Action.

He will talk about the culture at Spotify and specifically about staying lean from small start-up through rapid growth in Bologna on May 30th.

In a few years Spotify has grown from a small startup in Sweden to a pretty big company with more than 50 engineering teams in four different development offices on two different continents. Such rapid growth carries big challenges. How can we continue to improve our product at great speed, while growing the number of users, employees and supported platforms and devices? How do we stay lean and agile when we grow from a small startup to a big corporation? In this talk I will present how Spotify is addressing these challenges. I will talk about autonomous squads, tribes, chapters, guilds, hack weeks, and a lot of other ideas we’re experimenting with.

In this video you can see him presenting Agile at scale at Spotify at the Wildcard Conference in Latvia last September.
